Govt Orders Compulsory Verification Exercise Of Its Workers

Ebonyi State government orders compulsory verification exercise of workers in its establishments.
The Ebonyi state government has ordered compulsory verification exercise of its workforce in all the ministries, department and agencies beginning from next week.
This followed a resolution of the Sam Egwu led Committee And the Labour On Salary Dispute, wherein, they agreed that the salary of workers will be based on the economic realities from the month of July.
This also followed a resolution of the State Executive Council Meeting yesterday, of the need to carry out a verification exercise, to enable Government to check- mate the rot in the system, especially in the local government areas, where payment of salary and increase of salaries have been deferred because of the rot discovered by Government.
Briefing newsmen, yesterday, the Commissioner for Information and National Orientation, Senator Emmanuel Onwe said: “the simultaneous verification of workers involves everybody; there are not going to be exemptions, except those in the hospitals wherein arrangement has to be made on how they can be taken care off”.
According to Onwe,the team to be headed by Debuty Governor, Dr.Kelechi Igwe would conduct the exercise simultaneously at the 84 designated centres across the state.
He warned that no worker should exempt himself from the verification as arrangement has been made to capture, those that were indisposed . For the teachers, he directed that Secondary Teachers should not to proceed on holiday until the exercise is finished.
