…As PDP Advises Kogi Electorate
Governor Seriake Dickson has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resist the pressure and temptation by his party to rig the election forthcoming December 5 governorship elections in the state.
Dickson who said he is at the moment the only bona fide candidate to contest the election in Bayelsa state commended the Governor Ayo Fayose led committee for conducting a peaceful and credible primaries the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) should learn from.
The Bayelsa state governor said this yesterday while fielding questions from journalists at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nation secretariat after receiving his certificate of return.
He said Bayelsa state is traditionally a Peoples Democratic Party strong hold, therefore the people are eagerly waiting for December 5, to cast their votes for the Peoples Democratic Party.
The peoples governor said, the strong relationship between the people of Bayelsa state and the PDP cannot be altered suddenly by propaganda stressing that the PDP is rooted in the state with evidence of the performance by his government in the last four years.
He dismissed the opposition All Progressive Party and its candidate as a club of desperate politicians seeking the central government to overturn the will of the people for the party.
Dickson said this mentality informed their desperation by each of them to ensure that he emerges the preferred candidate in the polls. “Bayelsa is a traditional PDP stronghold and no amount of propaganda will alter this. PDP will be victorious in December 5, elections.
He said Bayelsa is in safety and waiting for the PDP even as the PDP and the Bayelsan people approach the election in unity. Buttressing his position the governor said the party has eight chairman out of eight council. 105 councillors out of 105 wards in the state, three Senators out of three senators and five representatives out of the five representatives.
