Emmanuel Ukudolo The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Lagos Island has described the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President of the 8th National Assembly as God divine, timely and excellent. A statement signed by the union Chairman in Lagos, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Adeshina Ibrahim said that the emergence of Senator Saraki at this time that Nigerians expect good governance and rapid succor to the populace as divine.
According to him, “Nigerians voted in Buhari as the president of the country for change, there is need to have an experienced person to head the senate so as to corroborate the president’s determine efforts to restore the country back to the expected route of development and better living standard for the people.
“Saraki, as we know had been the governor of Kwara State for eight years where he performed excellently and not only as governor but as chairman of Governors’ Forum who made the cooperation between the presidency, executives and legislatives very solid”, he said.
He asserted that such a person who has distinguished himself in that positions and now becomes Senator in the last era where he also contributed a lot in moving motion that are beneficiaries to Nigerians and always support movement that will make the country great, deserves to be given the opportunity to head the Senate and contribute much more better.
Ibrahim however lambasted some people who were condemning his election at the senate that make him become the president of the upper legislative house, saying “there is nobody that they don’t criticise because of their selfish interest”.
“If not because God has destined General Muhammadu Buhari to become president in the last general election, most of the people that voted for him now had been the one that have been criticising him for his military stance. Many of the so called great political leaders used to condemn all the former military head of state, but when the time comes, they all surrendered and support him to rule the country”.
