-Installs CCTV Cameras In Kaduna

Work has begun in earnest for the installations of CCTV cameras across Kaduna state, Adviser to Governor Nasir el-Rufai on Internal Security and Coordination of “Operation Yaki”, Hon Yakubu Yusufu Soja has disclosed.
Soja, who disclosed this Wednesday at a briefing at the Correspondent Chapel of NUJ Kaduna, on el-Rufai’s first year in office, also said procurement of Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV), otherwise known as drones, and training of operatives to man them, are also in progress.
According to him, trained operatives would, at all times, be using the UAV technology for speedy response to security challenges by getting immediate awareness of incident in its quest to fight against crime and criminality.
The coordinator said plans were also underway by the state government to provide modern crime detecting devices and more operational vehicles to the joint outfit in order to empower them to meet security challenges in intelligence gathering, pin down and surveillance throughout the state.
Soja said part of the effort was to create job and business.
The Aide also pointed out that provisions have been made for the procurement of 1000 bullet proof vests and helmets in order to safeguard lives and to boost the morale and combat readiness of operatives at all times.
He disclosed that the backlog of death benefit to Next of Kins of personnel who lost their lives while discharging their duties have been cleared by the administration to boost morale of security operatives and complements achievements so far recorded.
Soja said over the years the operatives have recorded huge success in areas of crimes control and reduction with arrests, trial and sentences of cattle rustlers, kidnappers, armed robbers, gangs of illicit drugs, miscreants among others.
