Apparently owing to sustained severe pressure and threats coming from people with disabilities in the state over ban on street begging, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has appointed a Special Assistant (SA) on Disability.
The name of the SA is Aliyu Muhammed Salisu. The state also appointed Binta Dikko-Audu to heads State Independent Electoral Commission (SIECOM), as Nasiru Aboki leads the state Urban Planning and Development Agency (KASUPDA).
A statement signed yesterday by Samuel Aruwan, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, disclosed that the governor had also approved the reconstitution of the boards of other agencies and their chairmen with Dr. Binta Dikko-Audu chairing the board of the SIECOM where she will work with six commissioners: The new chairman of the State Traffic and Environmental Law Enforcement Agency (KASTELEA) is Abba Zubair Ahmed, a retired colonel.
The board also has DSP Adamu Kachiro, Saidu Adamu, a former commissioner for Information and Ashiru Zuntu. Ezekiel Baba Karik, who was recently appointed Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), will be working with three other board members. They are Umar Faruk Muazu, Dr. Yusha’u Ango and Sani Akawu. The governor has also appointed Aliyu Muhammed Salisu as his Special Assistant on Persons with Disability.
