According to him, another kidnapper identified as Michael Uzochukwu Ezekiel the syndicate leader and his wife who has connections all over the country, were responsible for receiving the stolen/abducted children for safe keeping pending when they are sold.
The governor said the syndicate was busted during a search for one of the victims, Miracle Jacob, who was abducted on 22nd of August, with the aid of one Aisha and delivered to Ezekiel in Umuahia Abia state.
“Ezekiel and his wife receive stolen children from Mr. Ogiri including Miracle Jacob, the little boy that led to the bursting of the syndicate ring which has one Afonne Edward Nwokocha another member of the syndicate who facilitates transaction and movement of the children to interested persons,” he said.
He explained that the syndicate abducted Miracle Jacob, sold him out for N700 thousand, and the money was deposited to a Keystone Bank Account number 6006236464, by one Augustine Basil who they said wanted to adopt a male child.
