Cross River State has announced the dissolution of the boards of some parastatals in the state, whose tenures have espied. For over 10 years, boards, commissions and agencies (BAC) constituted by the former governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Etim Duke, were not dissolved even when their tenure of four and five years have elapsed.

Some of the boards, commissions and agencies which served over second tenure had wanted to be dissolved but government of the day did not deem it necessary to replace them.

However, the coming on board of Governor Ben Ayade has changed the situations as the government on May 28th 2015 ordered the dissolution of all the boards, agencies and commissions in the state. The government in a statement send to the media outfits stated, “the State government had on Thursday 28th May 2015 directed the dissolution of all Boards, Commissions and agencies.”

The statement further added, “arising from this dissolution, administrative heads of such dissolved board, commissions and agencies are requested to submit to the office of the head of service not later than Thursday 11th June 2015, copies of the handing over notes receive from the out gone chief executives”

Reacting on the dissolution, the people of the state thanked the government of the time for answering the calls of the people saying that most members of the boards, commissions and agencies turned their offices as their personal estates and dealt with official matters as if it were to be their own. “I am happy for the dissolution, the way these people acted was unbelievable” Chief Bassey Okon said.
