C/River: Igbo Assembly Pledges Support To Ayade

General Assembly Of Igbo Community In Cross River Pledges Support For Governor Ben Ayade’s Quest To Transform The State.

The General Assembly of Igbo Community in Cross River said it would support the administration of Prof. Ben Ayade to succeed in the task of transforming the State’s economy. This was contained in a statement signed by, Mr. Emmanuel Ezenwenyi, the Eze- Igbo in Council on Sunday in Calabar at the end of their delegates’ conference.

The Igbo assembly said that the emergence of Prof. Ayade and his Deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu was unprecedented in the political history of the State. “Considering his pedigree as a private sector leader, we are deeply convinced that he will usher in a new hope for Cross Riverians and improve on the economic growth and overall development of the state”

“While we pledge our unflinching loyalty and support under your visionary leadership, we pray that God should provide you with the wisdom to deliver on the democracy dividends to the people. We hope that you shall also carry Ndigbo along in your administration” the statement added.

They described the Igbos as the salt of the economy of the state, adding that, the community has a lot to contribute to the growth of the state’s socio-economy. The community further commended the giant strides made by the immediate past administration in developing the rural communities and urged the new administration to continue in that direction. The general assembly comprises of Igbos from the five South East States of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo resident in parts of Cross River.
