Elder statesman and first indigenous Commander Nigerian Army Signal Corps, Mazi Col Anthony Okoro Eze (Rtd.) has passed away. His last Nigerian appointment was as the Commanding Officer of the Lagos Garrison before the July 29, 1966 coup.
He attended Government College Umuahia, Regular Officers Special Training School Accra, The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Royal School of Signal Catterick, York, United Kingdom.
The octogenarian served as Chairman, Land Use and Allocation Committee, old Imo State; Director, Nigercem Nkalagu and Chairman Nigeria Hockey Association. He was a devout Christian, National Patron Nzuko Arochukwu and council member Okpankpo Arochukwu Kingdom.
Burial programme released by the family states that Service of Songs will hold on Wednesday, 10 August 2016, at JATA Events Centre, Km 39 Lekki-Epe Expressway, opposite Sapphire Estate adjacent Coscharis Motors, Lagos.
