Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Of Enugu State Says His Administration Would Not Discriminate Against Any Section Of The State In Distribution Of Social Amenities.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has made a pledge to the effect that the administration under his watch will not discriminate against any section of the state in the distribution of social amenities. Governor Ugwuanyi however, stated that Nsukka being the second urban area of the state will be given the well deserved face- lift, befitting its status as a university town.
The Governor made the promise when Royal fathers, community leaders, leaders of thought, PDP chieftains, top government officials as well as sons and daughters from Enugu North Senatorial District went to Udi town, country home of the immediate past Governor of the state, Mr. Sullivan Chime on a Thank you visit.
The State Chief Executive said that he was impressed with the level of transformation that his predecessor brought to the State in all sectors of the economy adding that his efforts had helped to turn Enugu State into a choice destination for both public and private investors, estate developers and tourists.
He also commended the former Governor for his unwavering support for equity and love for the people of Enugu North Senatorial District which made it possible for them to produce his successor in office. Governor Ugwuanyi described the visit as a demonstration of their love and appreciation of what Governor Chime did for the people during his 8 years in office. In his speech, the former Governor of the State, Mr. Sullivan Chime thanked the people for the honour bestowed on him and also for coming out en mass to appreciate the successful completion of his tenure.
He expressed delight over the level of acceptance given to his successor. Chime was enthused that people, even from the ranks of the oppositions were lavishing tremendous support to Ugwuanyi, and described such as a mark of appreciation to integrity and dedication exemplified by the Governor. The former Governor therefore enjoined the people to double their support to his successor the new Governor and also give him breathing space to excel so that he would lead the state into the Promised Land.
Representatives from the six local government councils of the zone, in their goodwill messages spoke glowingly of the former Governor’s achievements in the state and described them as unprecedented and worthy of commendation. The ALGON Secretary Hon. Cornel Onwubuya who is also the chairman of Uzo-Uwani local government lauded the exemplary performance of the out gone Governor, adding that the people of the zone would never forget him in a hurry.
Other speakers at the event included the zonal head of Traditional Rulers Igwe Barr RSN Eze, Enugu North Senatorial Senator-elect, Mr. Chukwuka Utazi, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Ikeje Asogwa. All the speakers testified the former Governor’s tremendous achievements and prayed God to bless and guide him in his future endeavors.
Other Goodwill messages also came from Ambassador Fidel Ayogu from Igboeze North local government area, Mr. Emma Chime from Udenu, Princess Stella Ngwu from Igbo- Etiti, Mr. Charles Ugwoke for Igbo-Eze South, Mr. Ikechukwu Ugwuegede for Nsukka and Chief Maximus Ukuta for Uzo- Uwani council areas. Earlier on his way, Governor Ugwuanyi paid a visit to Our Saviour Medical Centre Ngwo where he cleared bills of some patients including a nursing mother who was abandoned by the husband after four months of delivery.
