President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire as his Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, formerly office of the Special Assistant on Millennium Development Goals, was adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015, where world leaders adopted the 2030 sustainable development agenda
Under the new agenda, a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was set to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina saidMrs. Orelope-Adefulire had served as Deputy-Governor of Lagos State in the last administration and is an accomplished politician with many years of experience in public service.
She has also served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Lagos State.
