-Bars Him From Tweeting, Social Media Platforms, Newsrooms
The All Progressives Congress (APC), has ordered erstwhile chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation. Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, to shut up and stop, henceforth, from talking to the press on issues involved in the budget padding scandal.
The ruling party also barred Jibrin from transmitting any further information about the budget padding allegation either through social media or any other organ of information dissemination.
APC said in a letter addressed to Jibrin and dated August 4, 2016 that it his revelations were becoming embarrassing to the party.
In the letter written and signed by APC Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, the party said that government was not happy with his revelations about the House as regards allegations of budget padding.
The letter titled ‘The Crisis In the House of Representatives’ reads:
“As you are aware, the part and indeed the government have not been happy over recent developments in the House of Representatives over the issue of the 2016 budget. We found it embarrassing to have to deal with another new phenomenon which you tagged ‘budget padding’.
“However, I write to thank you for your cooperation in honouring our intervention and for your readiness to afford the party the chance to handle the House of Representatives ‘budget padding crises’.
“Arising from the series meetings we held with you over the subject matter, the National Working Committee had decided to request you to henceforth avoid issuing any public statements on this matter. This however, includes statements through social media and other means of transmitting an opinion on the matter to the public, as the party is now looking into it towards finding possible solutions.
“While counting on your cooperation, please accept my sincere best wishes”.
