Governor Ben Ayade will announce 700 names of political appointees next week.
Governor Ben Ayade will announce 700 names of political appointees next week even as the government has yet to issue appointment letter to over 1, 500 Green Police and 1, 000 garment factory workers.
Investigations conducted by our correspondent revealed that the workers were subjected to various scrutinies but were yet to be given appointment and offices.
Reaffirming Governor Ayade’s commitment to complete all political appointments before the end of the month, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Ayade, Mr Christian Ita said: “Once all appointments have been made, Gov Ayade would have brought additional 700 people into the state’s payroll”
The statement further explained that the intention of bringing so many people into government was borne out of the governor’ desire to expand government as a way of reducing poverty, increasing democratic participation and improve the value of service delivery.
The before the state House of Assembly confirmed 25 commissioner- nominees last month, it was confirmed that as much as 300 special advisers would be appointed by the governor. Ayade in the statement ordered that all inner city roads be fixed ahead of the one month long Carnival Calabar.
