In his efforts to continuously reverse his predecessors’ programme, Governor Ben Ayade has constituted an 8-Man Committee to restructure the Cross River State Institute of Technology and Management (ITM), Ugep in Yakurr local government area of Cross River state.
Performing the inauguration, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu Ejemot Esu, said the Committee was to restructure the Institute of Management and Technology with the overall aim of cutting down operational and running cost, without affecting its effectiveness as it was established to be.
The Deputy Governor who represented his boss expressed utmost confidence in the High bury team as constituted, saying that, they were comprised of eminent technocrats and educationists of sound repute who, according, to him would work assiduously by bringing their wealth of experience to bear in this tectonic assignment by making significant contributions in updating, restructuring and streamlining the operations and management
of the institution.
Prof. Esu said that, the vision behind the establishment of the technologically driven citadel of learning by
Government was to promote technological education with the aim of driving National Development, through
production of world class graduates in the field of technology but added that, the central focus was on students’ success and wealth creation through enterprise development, individual and partnership business formation for economic growth, through the students’ overall development.
According to the Deputy Governor, employment outcomes to meet the needs of students, Local Communities of the State and the Nation in general required the development of a foremost entrepreneurial Polytechnic which is why Government Partnered with High bury College Portsmouth, UK, to establish our own ITM Ugep.
