Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has commissioned and donated 10 new 32-seater Coaster Buses to the central and southern senatorial zones of the state. Governor Ayade said the buses which are a personal donation, were meant to alleviate the transportation difficulties currently being experienced by the people of the two zones.
He said the gesture was also to replicate what the Northern part of the state had long been enjoying and promised that the gesture was just the beginning of several other things to come for the two senatorial zones. According to him, it was in fulfilment of one of his promises to God to serve the state in a better capacity. As a Senator, he said he ensured that the people of the Northern Senatorial Zone enjoyed the benefits of subsidised transportation hence the need to replicate same in the central and south.
Meanwhile, the state government has directed all former commissioner, special advisers and all MDAs whose term in office have expired to return all official vehicles in their possession to the office of the Chief of Staff within seventy-two hours of this announcement. A release signed by the Chief of Staff to the governor Mr. Martin Orim further advised the affected persons to comply with the directive.
