After more than three weeks into his inauguration, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, finally moved into his official residence and office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. For the past three weeks, the President had operated from the Defence House, located at Maitama in the heart of Abuja But the President, on Sunday evening moved into his official residence in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he is expected to discharge all government activities.
Buhari and the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo have since their inauguration lived outside the Villa. The duo had also been running their administration from the Defence House, Abuja. They had been using the place in view of the renovation works being carried out at the Villa.
The President’s wife, Aisha Buhari had moved into the official residence since last Thursday. Before moving into the Presidential Villa, the President had embarked on comprehensive renovation of the facilities at the Villa, after former President Jonathan vacated the Villa. The President returned to Abuja from Katsina State on Saturday, one week after participating at his first African Union, AU meeting.
