APGA Backs Onu, Ngige; -Ebonyi APC Too

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has thrown its weight behind ex-governors Chris Ngige and Ogbonnaya Onu for clearance to be appointed minister having be so nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to APGA, their nomination “is a welcome development”.

The party made its position known yesterday through the Anambra State publicity secretary, Hon. Chinedu Nk- wonta, who addressed newsmen at the party house in Awka.

APGA maintained that whatever position the Igbo is appointed to is a plus to Igbo land stressing that the Igbo race is happy that gentlemen of the quality and standard of Ngige and Onu were selected from the southeast zone to be in the federal cabinet.

Nkwonta however stated that APGA, as a political party, will give both men all the support they require to succeed on the ground that they recognised that they were at the national level to represent the interest of the zone and not individual interests.

Meanwhile, Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has commended President Buhari for

appointing their illustrious son, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, to serve in his government and pledged their support and loyalty for his administration.

The party made its feelings known in a statement, following the announcement of Onu as one of the ministerial nominee by the senate.

The statement was endorsed by over 80 stakeholders of the party in the state.

According to the statement, the Party would remain grateful as Onu is a role model of modern day politics for emulation, by remaining consistent in party politics affairs.

“We and Ebonyi citizens hold the strong view that the appointment was the most thoughtful of the President and necessary to move the nation forward.”

The statement said that the party was proud to be associated with Onu and expressed the confidence that Onu would justify the confidence reposed on him by the President.

“Onu has been a trusted loyalist of the party and the Buhari administration and would be trusted to play a part in the administration change mantra.”

The statement appealed to Eboyians and the Nigerians to continue to give Buhari the needed support to take the country to a new level of development.
