The Executive committee of the Gombe State chapter of All progressives Congress (APC), has been sacked by the party’s national headquarters.
In its place, a caretaker committee has been installed to be headed by Hon. Lawan Shetima. The action, the party said, was effective August 31.
A statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, said the executive was removed following what the party described as “irreconcilable differences”.
It said the “irreconcilable differences” had led to the “factionalisation” of the party in Gombe.
APC’s statement reads: “Arising from the irreconcilable differences in the top hierarchy of the Gombe State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which led to the factionalisation of the State Chapter as informed by the testimonies of members of the State Executive Committee, the National Working Committee (NWC) of our Party in exercise of its powers contained in Article 13.4 (xvi & xvii) of the Party’s Constitution”.
The carekater committee was named as Hon. Lawan Shetima (Chairman), Capt. Bala Jibrin (Deputy Chairman), Alh. Sule Yakubu (Secretary) and Joseph William (Legal Adviser).
APC also said the Caretaker committee will serve for three months with options for renewal.
The party said it accepted “the resignation of Mr. Karu Ishaya and Mr. Sallau Manu Pindiga as State Deputy Chairman and State Secretary respectively” but “relieve Barr. Muhammad Magaji Doho and Barr. Dauda Manu as State Chairman and State Legal Adviser respectively”.
