Abia PDP Challenges Party On Repositioning

Ogbonnaya Ndukwe, Aba

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State have been called upon to work for the total reorganisation of the party to enable it elect a new leadership that will redirect its activities and return the party to position of acceptability among the electorate.

This is as the leadership of the party that led it through the last general elections got lambasted for imposing mediocrity instead of choosing candidates that were acceptable to the people for the positions that were contested for during the polls.

A party chieftain and former Special Assistant To Abia State Governor, Sir Chinedu Ugoala, who made the call while speaking on the need for the party to be reorganised and refocused for future elections, said there should be a summit where all stakeholders drawn from the grassroots areas from where the party derived its membership would come together to resolve issues of leadership and those to present for elective positions in future.

Sir Ugoala who was sad that the party lost the last general elections not because it did not have quality membership that could stand and win but due to what he described as the irresponsible image.
