2016 Budget Documents Not Missing in House – Dogara

Dyepkazah Shibayan, Abuja
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara on Tuesday debunked the claims of the 2016 missing budget.
He therefore directed the clerk of the House, Mr. Sani Omolori to display documents of the “purported missing” budget to members.
Dogara said that information that could not verified should not but circulated, but rather clarification should be sought on matters that are not clear.
“All members should send their staff with valid identification to the appropriation committee office to pick up copies of the 2016 budget.
“People should not give information that is not clear but look for clarification on such matters, “the Speaker said.
Recall that the Senate on Tuesday, 12th January had claimed that both soft and hard copies of the documents were missing.
A break down of the 2016 budget shows that N3. 86 trillion represents the projected revenue and N2. 22 trillion represents a debt profile which is 2.16 percent per Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The capital expenditure showed an increment from N557 billion in the 2015 budget to N1.8 trillion in the 2016 budget and this increment will be 30 percent of the total budget presented.
