Kingsley Madaki

All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter, has send “save our soul” (SOS) to the FCT Administration to establish more secondary schools across six area councils of the territory.

The president of ANCOPSS, FCT chapter, Mohammed Sani Ladan, who made the appeal on behalf of the principals, also called on the FCT Administration to recruit more teachers to adequately cater for the students.

Ladan, while presenting his welcome address at the ongoing 58th annual national congress of the ANCOPSS in Abuja, further pleaded with the FCT Administration to complete ongoing projects in some of the secondary schools in the territory. He equally advised the FCTA to carry out perimeter fencing in some of the schools that are yet to be fenced, so as to arrest the security challenges there. He stressed the need for provision of eighteen buses, appointment of principals into some key positions, promotion of principals to Grade level 17 as it was being done in some states, Ladan urged the FCTA to sponsor principals, vice-principals as well as teachers to attend capacity building workshops.

He also called on the FCTA to allocate a piece of land to the leadership of ANCOPSS to build its headquarters in the territory, adding that the payment of special allowances to the principals and vice-principals among other things should be considered.

Ladan, further, commended the management of the FCT Administration for the provision of standard facilities, which have improved the quality of education in FCT.
