Police Flush Out Criminals In Warri

Hoodlums in Warri and neighboring communities in Delta State are in for a hard time as police have started combing black spots to fish out criminals to keep the city free from crime.

It was gathered that the city has witnessed an upsurge in crime of recent as criminals have been terrorizing the oil city.

Following this the police high command in the state has ordered a massive manhunt and invasion of all suspected criminal hideout in the state.

Police source said the search which began after the general election is yielding fruitful results as scores of criminals, ranging from armed robbers, cultists and pick pockets are already in police net as more efforts are on to deal with the bad eggs who were on daily basis creating tension in the city.

Consequent upon the irrevocable commitment of the law enforcement agents to sanitize the state, majority of the criminals, who are mostly youths are now relocating to unknown destinations in the outskirt of Warri, just as scores of them have met their waterloo.

Investigations, revealed that the criminals operate mostly on Essi- layout, Lower Erejuwa down to Warri garage, Sam Warri, Enemejuwa and the notorious Enerhen and Jakpa junction respectively.

“Police in Warri are really combing criminal hideouts and succeeding in the onerous task. Things could have been different by now if forceful effort was applied in the past”, said some residents in Enemejuwa area.

The Area Commander Delta South (Warri), ACP Muazu Mohahmmed, declined comment when contacted and directed this reporter to the state police command Asaba.

But a police officer in Warri police station who preferred anonymity, however, commended the Area commander and his men for doing a good job of stamping out criminals in his area of jurisdiction.
