The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a five-man robbery gang for allegedly stealing telecommunications gadgets worth N10 million.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina,disclosed this to newsmen while parading the suspects in Ibadan.
The commissioner said the suspects carried out their unholy activity on Sunday at Dagbolu area of Ogun State, but were caught in Ibadan at Ona-Ara Local Government Area.
According to CP Kastina,”Today we have arrested these mast vandals,these vandals went to Ogun State and tied the security guard and removed the telecom materials worth about N10 million”.
Katsina disclosed that the vandals were intercepted by the Special Ambush Squad in Akanra Police Station,Ibadan.
The CP who said that investigation was still on going, assured that the matter was not going to end but would ensure that everyone involved be brought to book. “We will make sure that all the syndicate involved are identified and apprehended, I assure you that the matter is not over,” he said. Sunday Atanda, who spoke to newsmen, denied having anything to do with the other suspects.
He said he was hired to carry the materials and the gang promised to pay him N5000 materials.
