Several communities in five out of the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) including the disabled colony (Karon-Majigi) have benefited from projects provided by the FCT Community and Social Development Project (CSDP).CSDP is a poverty eradication project supported by the FCTA and the World Bank.
The General Manager of the agency, Arabi Mohammed Tukur, said CSDP has impacted positively on lives of the FCT residents.
According to him, the agency has so far completed seven projects in five council areas of Kwali, Abaji, Gwagwalada and Kuje. The general manager said trainings have been conducted for residents of 12 communities from last year to date.
“They are predominantly water and electricity extension projects with a few construction-related projects at various stages of completion. Some have been fully implemented while others are just about to commence. The water, electricity, and mall projects are already in use though not formally commissioned,” Tukur explained. He thanked the FCT Administration and the World Bank for the support given to the agency.
