American based Omolade Akpata who is popularly known as Omolade, is one Nigerian artist who has distinguished herself from other artists through her kind of music.

Having released three tracks Bamidele, Ife and Nearer from her forthcoming album, Omolade has been gaining more grounds as an upcoming artist, with more singles coming out early next year.

Omolade, 20, young and vibrant, who doubles as the CEO ofMocolatee, a fashion company she runs alongside her music, intends to release her debut album mid next year.

Born into the family of late Segun Akpata, a former NTA presenter, also the CEO of OJ&T, and her mother Lola Cole Akpata, Omolade, the fourth born of the family who is currently studying International business in Georgia Gwinnett College, Atlanta Georgia, found solace in doing what she likes best, music.

According to her, “my kind of music evolves around Love, respect and family, and at the moment I have some singles which I have been promoting. The tracks, since their release was prompted to introduce me into the Nigeria music scene and to also help gain recognition as an upcoming artist”, she noted.

The sultry artist and fashion designer decided to go into music because of the love and the joy she derives from it. “I always wanted to do music since my early stage of life, but now I find joy in doing it. My kind of music is Pop, RnB and hip hop. I started way back as a choir member, but professionally, I started 2013”.

On how she intends to stand out in her musical career, she was of the view that “I plan to stand out by being original. I don’t want to copy or imitate the plain and the same on-going musical style that most artists do. I’m also going to stay true to who I am as an artist and give my audience good music”, she said.
