BEZ Thrills Fans At Gbayi Child’ Album Listening

Lovers of classic music and fans of BezIdakula popularly known as Bez came out en masse last weekend during his ‘Gbayi Child’ album listening.

Obviously, it’s a good year for African music going by the sounds heard and felt at the ‘Gbayi Child’ album listening by classic artist in Lagos on the 25th of October 2015 at The Fuse Lounge Victoria Island Lagos. Letting friends and the media sample the new project, the alternative soul singer hosted an album listening party where tracks on his sophomore album were played and performed live by Bez and his band.

The listening showcase was attended by a host of stars and media personalities including Seyi Shay, Falz, Olisah Adibua, Audu Maikori, Toke Makinwa, Timi Dakolo, Kunbi Oyelese, Tito Idakula, KaylahOniwo, Makida Moka, OC Ukeje, Ozzy Agu, Lala Akindoju and many more.

Produced by CobhamsAsuquo, the ‘Gbagyi Child’ album features diverse sounds with different origins and stories, which Bez narrated, revealing that the creation ofthe album began 2 years ago, and ended just a week ago.

Featured tracks on the project include ‘Hold You Down’, ‘If to say’, ‘You Suppose Know’, ‘There’s a fire’, ‘Breathe’, ‘Eternity’ and a host of others. While some ofthe songs were made by infusing the traditional drums sounds obtained in Bez’s village in Nassarawa, he also worked with Beyonce’s percussionist Marcie Chapa on others.

Bez treated guests to a fine blend of traditional sounds, a breath-taking feature with Simi, and rock music specially engineered to be enjoyed at international musical festivals. He engaged the guests in a question and answer session, offering insight to the intricacies of making his genre of music.

Gbagyi Child is an entirely live-recorded album, and it is scheduled for release in November 2015.
