National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has given approval for the Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) to run programmes on Welding and Fabrication and Public Administration.
The approval was given to the college after meeting all the requirements necessary for setting up these programmes. NBTE in its approval letter, also approved for the Institution to run Higher National Diploma (HND), programmes in Mass Communication, Banking and Finance and Metallurgy Engineering.
Reacting to the approval ,the rector of the college , Dr. (Mrs.) Margret Ladipo said the management received the report with great gratitude to God ,saying that while some approvals were still being awaited ,the dream of institution expanding access of higher education to the nation’s youths was gradually becoming a reality .
She applauded the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) ,Governing Council and Staff of the college for their supports towards the drive to sustaining Yabatech as the institution of first choice in technological education in Nigeria.
According to the rector ,with the accreditation of the programme, the horizon had become brighter for younger ones who want to combine their brains with their hands to make a living. “The era of theoretical education is past .

Ladipo said she was still expecting further approval ,saying that the results from the accreditation team did not cover all the courses evaluated by the accreditation panelists .
