Kwara State Government has said that a new date for third term midterm break for public primary and secondary schools in the state begins today in the state.
The State, Director of Quality Assurance Bureau, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed made this known in Ilorin through a statement made available to The UNION in Ilorin.
According to statement, public primary and secondary schools in the state would now proceed on midterm from May 27 to 29, 2015. He added that the new date was to coincide with both the National children’s Day and Democracy Day Celebration.
It could be recalled that the state government has fixed the third term midterm break for 11th and 12th June, 2015.
According to Mohammed, the new change in midterm holiday was to reduce academic loss of the students in public schools.
He therefore directed all head teachers and principals of both primary and post-primary schools in the state to effect all necessary adjustments in their academic activities.
