Police in Owerri are on the trail of a lady in connection with the disappearance of a Hummer Bus which was hijacked by a suspected robbery syndicate. The suspect our source said had on August 16, approached the Imo state Travels agency that she wants to hire a vehicle to convey some goods. It was gathered that the suspect was given a Hummer bus WER274 ZZ belonging to Imo state government. She had convinced the motor company that the vehicle will be used in conveying computers from Aggbor to Owerri.
It was gathered that on reaching Agbor by new Benin-Asaba road, near Good Food Restaurant, the said young lady lured the driver to a track road where she claimed she wanted to pay contractors working on her site.
The driver told the police that on arrival at an uncompleted building in the area, three armed men came out from the structure, got hold of the driver, tied him up and pushed him into one of the buildings and absconded with the said bus.
The suspect was said to have been rescued b y some good Samaritan who untie him and set him free. Police said some operatives have spread it dragnet to track down the suspect who has been given details of the vehicle for possible recovery.
