Girl,11, Killed In Kidnappers Hideout

Three suspects have been arrested by the police for allegedly kidnapping and killing an 11 year old primary school girl Aminat Ishola in their hideout in Ogun state.

Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers for allegedly kidnapping and killing an 11-year-old primary school girl Aminat Ishola . The kidnappers were alleged to have killed the girl by administering a poisonous substance on her while in their custody.

Parading the suspects at the Headquarters of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS), located along Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta, the police said the mastermind of the crime, was the former employee of the victim’s guardian.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, gave their names as Babatunde Aderonmu, 21, Sina Damilare,40 and Taofeek Kola,50, adding that the girl was kidnapped at Arugudu in Ijoko-Ota area of Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state on May 21.

According to him, the girl, was moved to Osun Jegede area of Ibadan in Oyo State where she was held in captivity for eight days, and later contacted one Taofeek Kola, who claimed to be an Alfa who administered a powdery substance to hypnotise her.

Adejobi said the victim died while in custody of the kidnappers and they(kidnappers) immediately wrapped the corpse in a sack and dump it opposite Ogbere Police Station ‘The SARS operatives led by the officer in charge,SP Mohammed Tijani, swung into action by adopting all available and legitimate strategies to arrest the other two suspects, Shina Damilare and Taofik Kola Ajisomo(the Alfa),after the arrest of the mastermind, Babtunde Aderonmu,who was sacked from the bakery of the victim’s guardian in Ijoko Otta,Ogun State.

It was gathered that Babatunde had been sacked by the victim’s guardian as a result of his dubious activities while working at the bakery. “After the girl had died, they conceal her corpse in a sack and dumped it opposite Ogbere Police station .

The following day, a woman whose shop is close to the police station noticed the sack and called the attention of the police. The DPO ordered the sack opened where the corpse was found and had since been deposited at public mortuary for autopsy,” Adejobi said.

“We have carried out an autopsy on the girl and we are awaiting the result. We have gathered that the suspects had contacted the parents of the girl and had demanded for N3million ransom”, “One Lasisi Olalekan reported the case of the missing girl to the police and the officers had commenced an investigation on the matter which led to the arrest of the lead suspect, Babatunde Aderonmu.

The suspect had sent the account number of a prophetess whom they claimed had prayed for them before contacting the parents,”. “The suspects had confessed that they employed the service of an Alfa who administered a substance on the girl which led to her death and later dumped her remains very close to the Divisional Police Station in Ogbere Tioya in Ibadan”, he explained.
