Turning Passion To Profit

The University of Lagos Multi-purpose Hall is the venue of a Youth Summit with Turning Your Passion To Profit as theme. Biodun Adebisi reports

Business Impact Limited will, Saturday, May 2, at the University of Lagos Multi-purpose Hall A and B engage Prof. Pat Utomi and five other CEOs at the 2015 edition of its Youth Connect Summit.
Expected to stimulate hundreds of young men and women, the “Youth Connect” summit tagged, Turning Your Passion to Profit, according to the organisers, is designed to propel youths towards discovering their innate abilities and maximising them resourcefully for the purpose of financial independence and the cause of humanity at large.

In a statement made available to The UNION yesterday, explaining what to offer at the summit, BIL, a small and medium scale enterprise based in Lagos, said: “We are at it again. We believe in the youth of Nigeria; hence, we would not rest on our oars in preparing them for a prosperous tomorrow. It’s a bit expensive to organise a programme of this magnitude; but the youth are our future and without an army of purposeful youths, our nation will be paralysed. Therefore, the Nigerian Youth deserve our very best and we’ve decided to start this crusade from our campuses.”

The CEO of BIL and the Youth Connect convener, Samson Olatunde, listed presenters at the event to include Prof. Pat Utomi, Founder/CEO Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL); Yinka Sanni, CEO Stanbic IBTC Bank; Niyi Adesanya, CEO Fifth Gear Plus; Bimpe Bamgbose-Martins, Founder of SMILE NGO; and Gus Ogunlowo, CEO Ba2you, UK .

Olatunde disclosed that the summit will also feature comedy and book fair, among other highlights, stressing that admission is absolutely free.

Olatunde recalled that “ It’s not the first time BIL will be treading this path,” saying “On May 29, 2014, the main auditorium of the prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, was filled to capacity as students and young professionals from different walks of life attended “2014 Edition of Youth Connect Summit.” The programme also had some of Nigeria’s finest young entrepreneurs and remarkable career figures such as Fela Durotoye (Founder,

GEMSTONE Nation Builders Foundation); Mr. Jimi Tewe (CEO, Inspiro Consulting Ltd.); Mrs. Asiwaju Aderonke (Head of Counseling Unit UNILAG); Mrs. Maureen Iyasele (Founder Jobmag) among others who stimulated guests to aim doggedly at outstanding success in life. “

He explained that the tool of strategic personal development and discovery of purpose was hammered upon at this epoch-making event.

“Cheered by remarkable reviews from earlier editions under the “Below 45” label, this edition of “Youth Connect” is envisioned to raise astute leaders, indomitable entrepreneurs and trail blazers with respect to career. The summit is foreseen to spread to other states within Nigeria with time,” Olatunde added.
