Smile’s entry into Benin City follows its earlier launch of services in such cities as Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. The systematic rollout of its network services is in line with its strategic objective of making available to Nigerians superfast, mobile, reliable and affordable broadband internet access. It also represents a considerable investment and reflects Smile’s confidence in – and commitment to – the country’s development.

Smile launched West Africa’s first true 4G LTE network in Ibadan in 2013 thereby revolutionizing the way people access the internet. Smile’s preference for the 4G LTE technology as the framework for all its current services is predicated on the fact that the LTE is the only technology that is fast enough to truly open the door to the digital revolution in Nigeria. This is in addition to the LTE providing the best coverage indoors and in built –up areas and has the fastest growing ecosystem for end –user devices.
