Completion Of Lagos-Ibadan Road Crucial To Investments – Industrialist

Emmanuel Ani, Ado Ekiti
Industrialist and Chairman of Orllar Group of Companies, Chief Olayinka Salaudeen Adebayo, has expressed concern over the slow pace of work on the reconstruction of Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, saying its speedy completion would boost investment in the axis and indeed other parts of the country.
Adebayo, the Mogaji Agie of Ibadanland, said the suffering on the road and the attendant risk to movement of goods and services were great disservice to investment.
The industrialist, who spoke at Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State shortly after he was installed as the Aare Bobaselu by the Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaye, appealed to the Federal Government to expedite action on the road in view of its importance as link between Lagos and other parts of the country.
The Mogaji, who expressed delight at the honour from another land, described it as a wake-up call to him to expand the scope of his community development efforts and humanitarian services for betterment of society.
He advised the Federal Government to tackle the problems of power, fuel and roads which he said were central to the turnaround of the country’s economy.
The industrialist also seized the opportunity to renew call on successful Nigerians in the Diasporas to come back home to invest, saying such would be great contribution towards diversifying the country’s economy and reducing unemployment.
Adebayo; Otunba Dele Awe, the leader of Nigerians in the Diasporas; and 12 other Nigerians were honoured with chieftaincy titles in recognition of their contribution to the growth of humanity, their communities and the country by the monarch on the occasion of his 10th coronation anniversary.
Otunba Awe, a native of Iyin Ekiti, who was installed as the Otunba Bobakeye of Iyin Ekiti, lauded the monarch for his quality leadership and contributions to the development of the community and eyes on the future with scholarship schemes for the youth.
Awe, who pledged support for the scholarship scheme and other development programmes, charged youths of the community to be inspired to excellence by the laudable achievements of eminent Iyin Ekiti sons and daughters.
He promised to do more for the community and youth empowerment in the incoming year to ensure unprecedented socio-economic development of the town and a secured future.
